War service: Egypt Found guilty, Maadi, 12 February 1916, of drunkenness on 10 February 1916: fined 2/6d and leave stopped for one month. Found guilty, Heliopolis, 28 April 1916, of being absent without leave from 3 pm, 27 April, to 9 pm, 28 April 1916: leave stopped for one month and forfeited 3 days' pay. Admitted to 3rd Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 6 May 1916 (scabies); transferred to 4th Auxiliary Hospital, 31 May 1916; discharged to duty and rejoined unit, 31 May 1916. Found guilty, 2 June 1916, of breaking isolation from an Infectious Hospital during a period of isolation from 5 pm, 29 May, to 9.45 am, 30 May 1916: awarded 21 days' Field Punishment No 2. Found guilty, 15 July 1916, of (1) being absent without leave, 2pm-10.45 pm, 14 July 1916; (2) drunk in Cairo, 14 July 1916: awarded forfeiture of 14 days' pay.
