Disembarked Suez, ex-HMAT 'Geelong', 18 December 1915.

Found guilty, 2 May 1916, of neglect of duty; failing to keep his rifle clean: awarded 4 days' confined to camp.

Found guilty, 13 May 1916, of being in bed after reveille: awarded 3 days' confined to camp.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916.

Posted missing, 20 July 1916.

Statement by Private W. Nolan, 2084, 32nd Bn and at present a Prisoner of War in Germany, asserts that he saw McCulloch killed on 19 July 1916; now, 11 July 1917, to be reported as 'Killed in Action, 19 July 1916'.

Note on Red Cross File No 1900605: 'No trace Germany. Cert. by Capt. Mills, 10.10.19.'

Statement, 2084 Pte W. NOLAN, 32nd Bn, 16 January 1919: 'On the night of 19/20th July 1916 at Fleurbaix in enemy's 3rd line trench, he was killed outright by piece of shell, hit right through body. Same shell wounded me. I was taken Prisoner of War in morning. His body would be left in trench.'
