Handwritten note on Form B103: 'Presume Buried In No Man's Land at approx 5J90.43 to 5K0.2.5.1'.

Statement, Red Cross File No 1900609, 1869 Pte W.J.R. WEST, 15th Machine Gun Company (patient, No 2 General Hospital, (Quai), Calais), 30 November 1916: 'I found McCulloch about a month after he was killed in front of V.C. Sap near Fleur Bay (sic) and buried him there. I took his disc and returned same and also his wallet to the O.C. 57th battn.'

Second statement, 2795 Pte O.G. DAVIS, 15th Machine Gun Corps (patient, 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, England). 5 January 1917: 'He and W. WEST of the same Battalion, buried a man of the above surname upon whom they found a letter from a Miss Daisy King of Warrandyte at Fromelles. The letter was handed to an Officer in a wallet. The body had been lying out in No Man's land (sic) for three to four weeks.'
