'For general good service. He has given very considerable assistance both as quartermaster sergeant and squadron sergeant major. He has shown exceptional energy in assisting to keep up the standard of efficiency of the squadron in spite of the large number of untrained sappers and drivers sent to this unit. He handles the men tactfully and well, and the discipline of the unit is due very largely to his energy.'
