Military Medal 'At GUEUDECOURT about 10.30 p.m. on 2nd November, 1916 a heavy shell exploded near the gun emplacement blowing the gun into "No Man's Land" and burying the N.C.O. On being dug out although much shaken he searched for the gun and eventually located it at 5.30 a.m. in "No Man's Land". In full view of the enemy and under continual sniping he brought the gun back in a damaged condition from the shell hole 20 yards in front of our parapet.'
