Military Medal

'For conspicuously good service during period 16th September, 1918 to November 11th, 1918. This Non Commissioned Officer's services for the past 18 months have been above praise. In the offensive operations at VILLERS-BRETONNEUX and in the attack on the HINDENBURG Line in September 1918, he repeatedly volunteered to repair damaged telephone lines under heavy enemy barrage fire. His cheerfulness, courage and devotion to duty has been a splendid example to the Battalion Signallers.'
