Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For marked and consistent gallantry, ability and devotion to duty during the period 25 February 1918 to 16 September 1918. In handling the supply of ammunition he has behaved in a most exemplary manner. His courage and cool determination in overcoming obstacles in the course of carrying out his duties under heavy shell fire have always set a most excellent example to the men under his charge.'
