Military Medal 'At POZIERES, Private McFADDEN, who was employed as battalion runner between Headquarters and the firing line, was practically continuously on duty from the night of 5th August, 1916, until the afternoon of the 8th August, 1918. A great deal of his work had to be done at night and under heavy hostile artillery fire. He carried out his duties with the greatest bravery and coolness, never failing to deliver his messages. Military Medal awarded 28th August, 1916.'
