'During operations in FLANDERS in October, 1917, this N.C.O. showed untiring energy in his work in getting rations through to his Company under heavy shell fire. When the severe weather made conditions more exacting, he was most zealous in his efforts for the comfort of the men of his Company. Since these operations he has continued to do excellent work. He has carried out the duties of C.Q.M.S. since August, 1916, and under all conditions has rendered good and faithful service.'
