Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and fine leadership displayed during the operations from 1/5th November, 1917 at PASSCHENDAELE RIDGE, East of YPRES. During an enemy attack on the 3.11.17, when the enemy had gained a footing in our lines, Sergeant MCINTRYE handled with skill and coolness a team of grenadiers when his unit counter-attacked. He was at all times under distressing fire from enemy snipers, but his cool manner and utter disregard of self were in a large measure responsible for the success of the counter-attack.'
