Military Medal 'At about 5 a.m. on 4th July 1918 near HAMEL, EAST of CORBIE Pte. McLAREN whilst in charge of a squad of bearers displayed courage and resource of a very high order. He led his squad through a heavily shelled position with the greatest coolness and worked throughout the battle with great determination and energy when his strength had become exhausted.
