War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (Gallipoli Campaign), 12 April 1915. Wounded in action, 12 May 1915. Admitted to Fleetsweeper 24 July 1915 (gastro-enteritis); transferred to 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital, Lemnos, 1915; rejoined Bn, Gallipoli, 7 August 1915. Wounded in action (second occasion), 8 August 1915 (gun shot wound, right arm), and admitted to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, and transferred to 16th Stationary Hospital, Mudros; to Base Hospital, Malta, and admitted to Floriana Hospital, 22 August 1915, transferred to England, 15 September 1915, and admitted to Fulham Military Hospital, 23 September 1915. Disembarked Alexandria from England, 15 January 1916; rejoined Bn, Tel el Kebir, 16 January 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 22 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 28 March 1916.
