Military Medal 'For untiring devotion to duty in action East of YPRES on 4th October 1917. For two days and nights, he acted continuously as Battalion Runner, making many journeys through the heavy enemy barrage and through most difficult country. he was indefatigable and his cheerfulness through everything was a fine example to everybody.'
