Appointed Acting Sergeant, 1 November 1915.

Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, 11 November 1915 (jaundice), transferred same day to 13th Casualty Clearing Station, and then to Mudros; disembarked Alexandria, 12 November 1915, and admitted same day to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis; transferred to Convalescent Depot, 7 December 1915; discharged 'fit for service', 9 December 1915; rejoined Bn, Tel el Kebir, 10 January 1916.
