Found guilty, 15 May 1916, of refusing to obey a lawful command given by his superior officer ? when ordered to move off with a fatigue party he stepped out and refused to go: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916. Posted missing, 20 July 1916.
