Meritorious Service Medal 'At ZONNEBEKE 11th/15th October, 1917. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When his Officer had been killed, he organised his Brigade Signal Service to every advantage, by vigorous attention during long hours on duty. His cheerfulness and demeanour impressed all his section to the highest degree. He has at all times displayed marked attention and the greatest efficiency in his work.'
