Military Medal At POZIERES, FRANCE, 14th. to 22nd. August 1916. Owing to heavy shell fire telephone communication was impossible. Pte MEREDITH carried messages through the barrage and in full view of enemy machine guns and sniper. He was always at hand when a runner was required. He also guided relief and working parties to and from the front line principally at night and although the tracks and communication trenches were obliterated by shell fire, he never made a mistake. On every previous occasion this mans work was conspicuous and brilliant.'
