Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as senior company commander. When the battalion had become scattered and the other company commanders casualties, although himself wounded early in the action, he took charge and re-organized the companies on reaching the objective. he personally traced the line to be consolidated and supervised the whole of the work across the brigade frontage.'
