Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For gallantry on 3 October, 1918; during an attack on the Beaurevoir Line, east of Amiens, an enemy post containing two machine guns and crews was encountered. He climbed through the wire, sniping at the crew as he did so. His fire was so accurate that the guns ceased fire and surrendered.'
