Joined 2nd Bn at Gallipoli, 8 May 1915.

Admitted to hospital, 12 May 1915; disembarked Alexandria from HMTS 'Alaunia', 22 May 1915, and transferred to Base, and admitted to Deaconess Hospital (deficient teeth). Transferred to Convalescent Camp, Beach, 29 May 1915. Admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, Cairo, 27 July 1915; discharged to Convalescent Camp, 29 July 1915. Discharged to Concentration Camp, Suez, from Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, 8 October 1915.

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HT 'Aeneas' for discharge (injury to foot and both ears), 31 October 1915; disembarked, 26 November 1915; discharged, Sydney, 11 January 1916 (medically unfit: shrapnel wounds, right hand and left ankle; deafness right ear).
