Military Medal 'For devotion to duty and absolute disregard for danger whilst stretcher bearing during the attacks on 9th/11th August 1918 North of ROSIERES and near LIHONS. Notwithstandidng that he was almost continually under heavy fire from field guns and machine guns and was freqently subjected to deliberate sniping from the enemy, he carried on with his work showing great courage and endurance, setting a magnificent example to the remainder of his Company.'
