Military Medal 'At YPRES during operations on morning of 26th September, 1917, for marvellous coolness contempt of danger and organising powers. When all the Officers of his Battery had been wounded he assumed Command and personally saw that the orders for the barrage were carried out. on several occasions he was buried but still carried on and kept the men going. Throughout the operations his conduct was magnificent and he set a great example to his men.'
