'For continuous good service. This Non Commissioned Officer, came to France with his Battalion as a Private, and has been twice wounded. In all the operations in which he has taken part he has been especially noticed for his coolness and determination. During the past eight months he has been acting in the capacity of Company Lewis Gun Non Commissioned Officer, and his work at all times has been most satisfactory. He has taken part in the following operations; MESSINES, VILLERS-BRETONNEUX, MORLANCOURT, ACCROCHE WOOD, BRAY-sur-SOMME, CURLU, and HINDENBURG Line.'
