Thomas MILNE embarked twice with the AIF. On his first embarkation he left under the name Thomas Eric Orbon, Regimental number 1032. He embarked from Brisbane with the 5th Light Horse Regiment, 6 Reinforcement on HMAT A63 'Karoola' on 12 June 1915. He returned to Australia in August 1915 for medical reason. On 2 May 1916 he reembarked under the name of Thomas Ernest Orton MILNE, Regimental number 2344, from Melbourne with the 8th Light Horse Regiment, 16th Reinforcement on the HMAT A66 'Uganda'. He finally returned to Australia with the 3rd Anzac Battalion on 21 May 1917. When he first embarked he gave his address as Bowen Street, Roma. At his second embarkation he gave his address as Gregory Street, Roma. At both embarkations he gave his marital status as single. |
