War service: Egypt, Western Front Allotted to and proceeded to join 52nd Bn, Tel el Kebir, 3 March 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 5 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 12 June 1916. Reported wounded in action, 3-4 September 1916; further report stated: 'Seen wounded[,] probably never reached dressing stn.' Subsequent report: 'Previously reported wounded and missing in action[;] now reported Killed in Action.'
