'During the period September 1917 to February 1918 including the operations North East of YPRES this N.C.O., who is transport Corporal, has shown conspicuous energy and great gallantry in getting rations and stores forward when the Battalion has been in the line. On several occasions at BROODSEINDE animals were killed or scattered but Corporal MITCHELL did splendid work in collecting the mules and redistributing the loads and invariably delivered the stores.'
