'Recommended for consistent good work during operations north west of POZIERES from 7th to 10th August, 1916. He showed great courage by scouting close to enemy and bringing back valuable information. He did very reliable work and was wounded whilst scouting in front of the Company on the occasion of the advance towards MOUQUET FARM.'
