'On 25th August 1918, at BRAY, and on 27th August 1918, near BRAY, gunner MORGAN acted as telephonist to the Forward Observing Officer. He kept the line in repair at all times under heavy hostile fire, and enabled efficient communication to be kept with the battery when most urgently required. This man showed great coolness and devotion to duty in carrying out is duties, for which he volunteered, and greatly assisted in the maintenance of the Battery's forward communications.'
