Military Medal 'During the attack on the BEAUREVOIR Line North of ST. QUENTIN, on 3rd October, 1918, this N.C.O. showed splendid courage in attacking the enemy positions. Although slightly wounded, on reaching the objective he carried on in the work of mopping up. On encountering an enemy machine gun post in the trench, he single handed immediately opened up a persistent bombing attack and, by his determined efforts and personal gallantry, succeeded in capturing 20 prisoners and three machine guns. Several of the enemy lay dead in the trench as the result of his accurate bombing.'
