Military Medal 'During attack on September 20th 1917 near WESTHOEK, this stretcher bearer, although wounded before advance started, refused to go to Aid Post and moved forward with the attacking troops. From there he continued to carry wounded to the rear through heavy shell fire. He was then wounded a second time but carried on until the Battalion was relieved.'
