Meritorious Service Medal 'For meritorious service during the period 25th February to 17th September, 1918, this Non Commissioned Officer, has been employed as a Bombing Instructor and during operations on forward ammunition dumps. A zealous and efficient instructor, he has also done excellent work on the ammunition dumps. The latter has always been arduous and often carried on under difficult and hazardous conditions. His untiring energy and conduct has spurred the men under him to efforts which they might not otherwise have made it had not been for the example he set them.'
