Military Medal 'He performed excellent work during the recent operations between 22nd and 30th September 1917, on the Polygon Wood front. During the advance on the morning of 26th September, two amplifiers were put out of action through shell fire. Sapper Morris, who was at the time doing duty at a Wireless Station, volunteered to go forward in charge of a fresh Amplifier Station. He succeeded, though slightly wounded, in getting his party through a heavy barrage and establishing his station at the BUTTE, and successfully worked back to cable head. By his fearlessness and devotion to duty and the success of his undertaking he was a splendid example to all.'
