Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. After the objective had been captured an ememy strong point in advance of the position considerably harassed the work of consolidation. In company with his officer and two other men he rushed the strong point, put the machine gun crew out of action, cleared the position, and captured 30 prisoners. He saved many casualties by his prompt and fearless action.'
