Meritorious Service Medal 'This man has been a Company Cook since the arrival of the Battalion in FRANCE in March, 1916. His work has been most consistently good, and he has never once been absent from his kitchen, except on leave to ENGLAND. He is an absolute identity in the Battalion and his cheerful behaviour has frequently been the means of inspiring the men of the Battalion under the most adverse conditions.'
