Military Medal 'For gallantry under fire and conspicuously good service. Near HALLE on 31st August 1918, T/2nd Corporal MYER was one of a party constructing bridges across the SOMME. The locality in which T/2nd Corporal MYER was working was exposed to direct machine gun fire of all kinds. Repeatedly the party was driven off the work, several casualties being sustained but each time he was foremost in getting back to work. By his energy and skill he set a fine example to the rest of the party and did much towards the success of the work. He then took a leading part in the construction of the pontoon bridge over the canal. Despite extreme fatigue T/2nd Corporal set a splendid example of energy and resource to all those about him, cheering and encouraging the men in addition to working unremittingly himself.'
