Military Medal 'On 24th June while in charge of a patrol reconnoitring towards the WADI IMLIEH showed great dash and gallantry in obtaining necessary information reference the enemy's dispositions A body of about 400 Infantry having advanced from their main positions were working up from the WADI IMLIEH towards the Patrol Post at point 300 with the apparent intention of delivering a surprise attack. Also on 4th July, 1917 while in charge of advance patrol covering a special officers reconnaissance of the country South West of BERSHEEBA, again showed great skill and energy in clearing the sector of numerous enemy patrols enabling the reconnaissance party to gain important information.'
