Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During an attack the communications from the front line were ciut, and the signal lamps buried by shell fire. He went forward on two occasions through a heavy barrage and obtained information. It was owing to his gallantry that communication was maintained during the enemy counter attack.'
