Military Medal 'During the operations from 31st August 1918 to 5th September 1918 near PERONNE this man had charge of signal arrangements and communications be maintained between forward and rear posts and between Machine Gun Sections and the Infantry. This soldier carried out his duties in an exceptionally efficient manner, notwithstanding the heavy enemy fire, and his splendid work and the fine example he set to his comrades helped very materially in the success of the operations.'
