Meritorious Service Medal 'For conspicuous devotion to duty in the administration of the Ordnance Services of the Division, more especially during the operations of August 8th (during my absence sick) when he acted as D.A.D.O.S. of the Division and displayed the greatest initiative and foresight in obtaining immediate replacements for the fighting Units. The period covered is from 25th February 1918 to night of 16th/17th September 1918.'
