War service: Egypt, Gallipoli Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 25 August 1915. Transferred to 6th Light Horse Regiment, 29 August 1915, and posted to D Squadron. Disembarked Alexandria, 25 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation). Transferred to 12th Light Horse Regiment, 22 February 1916, and marched out to Oasis Camp, Heliopolis. Detached to Signal School of Instruction, Zeitoun, 24 June 1916; rejoined unit from detachment, 23 July 1916. Appointed Signaller Corporal, Ferry Post, 10 January 1917.
