Military Medal 'Is brought under notice for his very gallant conduct and courage displayed by him during our operations on the 26th September, 1917, near ZONNEBEKE. He was attached to Company Headquarters as a runner, and in the course of his duties had to pass through very heavy barrages at least six times. He was always at hand when volunteers for dangerous runs were required, and on the occasions mentioned never failed to deliver his message in the minimum time. He is recommended for distinction.'
