Military Medal 'During the attack near MORLANCOURT on 19th instant this N.C.O. whose platoon had no officer led his men out to dig in under a barrage and coolly marked out the task for each man. His steadiness greatly encouraged the men and the task was well done. Throughout the day he showed great coolness and leadership of a high order in handling his platoon.'
