Proceeded overseas to France, 2 July 1917; joined 18th Bn, 1 August 1917. On leave to United Kingdom, 14 August 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 30 August 1918. Accidentally injured, 26 October 1918 (fractured right wrist); admitted to 5th Australian Field Ambulance, 27 October 1918; transferred to 41st Stationary Hospital, 29 October 1918; to 6th General Hospital, 30 October 1918; to England, 1 November 1918, and admitted to Bath War Hospital, 2 November 1918; to 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, 28 November 1918; discharged on furlough, 29 November 1918, to report to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 13 December 1918.
