War service: Egypt, Western Front Found guilty, 20 February 1916, of being absent from 0700, to 0800 hours, 20 February 1916: award, forfeits 4 days' pay. Rejoined 15th Bn, 6 March 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 1 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, no date stated. Found guilty, 12 June 1916, of (1) disobedience of ship's standing orders; (2) being absent without leave from 0500 hours, 10 June 1916, until 0730 hours, 11 June 1916: award, forfeits 1 day's pay and total forfeiture of 3 days' pay. Found guilty, no date stated, of being absent without leave from 2200 hours, 30 June 1916, until 1300 hours, 5 July 1916: awarded 10 days' Field Punishment No 2, and forfeits 6 days' pay by Royal Warrant.
