'This N.C.O. has served continuously with his Unit since its arrival in FRANCE, and has always proved a reliable and efficient soldier, carrying out all orders entrusted to him conscientiously and fearlessly. he has acted as Orderly Room Sergeant of this Unit for the past six months. During the advance the work has frequently to be carried out under adverse circumstances and owing to Sergeant O'NEILL's unwearying efforts and energy, it has always been done capably and expeditiously, thus enabling the records of the Battalion to be kept thoroughly up-to-date.'
