Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For gallantry and skilful leadership at Peronne, 1 and 2 September, 1918. His officer having been wounded in an assault on a strong point, and his platoon badly shaken this N.C.O. reorganized and attacked again, taking prisoner the whole garrison. He then reorganized and carried the final objective.'
