On course to Corps Gas School, 17 March 1918; rejoined unit, 26 March 1918.

Wounded in action, 16 April 1918 (shell wound, left leg). Admitted to 1st Australian Field Ambulance and transferred to 1st Casualty Clearing Station, 16 April 1918; and evacuated to England and admitted to 2nd Eastern General Hospital, Brighton, 22 April 1918. Transferred to 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 3 July 1918; discharged to No 3 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 10 July 1918. Marched out to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 26 July 1918.

Commenced return to Australia for discharge, 23 September 1918; disembarked, 27 November 1918; discharged, 31 January 1919.
