Admitted to Fovant Hospital, 16 October 1917; rejoined 5th Training Bn from hospital, 29 October 1917. Admitted to Hurdcott Hospital, 23 January 1918; discharged to Training Depot, 26 January 1918. Proceeded overseas to France, 5 February 1918; taken on strength, 35th Bn, in the field, 12 February 1918. Reported missing in action, Dernacourt, 5 April 1918; subsequently reported prisoner of war (wounded) in Germany. Repatriated from Holland; arrived in England, 31 August 1918; admitted to Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley, 1 September 1918 (mental); transferred to Lord Derby War Hospital, Warrington, 9 September 1918.
