Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in charge of the battery in action after the officer in charge was wounded. One of the first shells burst close to him, throwing him down and slightly wounding him. He, however, remained until satisfied that he had done all he could, and was the last to leave.'
