War service: Egypt Found guilty, 5 January 1915, of being absent from parade: awarded 7 days' confined to braacks. Found guilty, 26 February 1915, of being absent from picquet: awarded 24 hours' detention. Found guilty, District Court Martial, 2 March 1915, of using threatening language to his superior officer: awarded 14 days' detention. Found guilty, 2 March 1915, of improper behaviour on defaulters' parade: awarded 1 day's confined to barracks. OC, C Company reported: '... Correspondence inspecyted by D.P.M. discloses low condition of morale and associates here and in Australia and he is not a desirable character. He was born in Malta and of maltese stock and about 14 years ago was in business in Alexandria.' Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HT 'Ulysses', 21 March 1915 (misconduct); disembarked and discharged, Melbourne, 15 April 1915. |
